The Saint Sophia National Complex will host the Pysanka Festival within the framework of the Easter holidays in Ukraine. Pysanka Festival is an annual traditional event, an inherent part of Easter for residents and guests. It is designed to support and popularize Ukrainian folk traditions, promote Ukrainian culture and history of Ukrainian people on the example of Easter eggs phenomenon.

As a part of this ethnic festival, the project team aims to tell the whole world about outstanding Ukrainian history and rich colorful culture. Today, with the 6th edition of the festival, this project unites all Ukraine during Easter Holidays each year.
This year, the project's borders will widen, as the festival strives to gather more participants around Easter eggs painting than ever before. Everyone will be able to add his or her own pysanka to general masterpiece collection of Easter eggs.

This year, a record number of pysankas - 374 eggs - are going to be displayed at St. Sophia Square. All of them will be painted in traditional Ukrainian styles from different regions or in original manner of artistic interpretation.
