The National Museum of Western and Eastern Art in Kiev will open the exhibition ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ on March 17, 2016 at 4pm. The new exhibition will present the classic biblical theme of Hell and punishment for sins in interpretation of modern Ukrainian graphic artists among who are Yuriy Borovitsky, Oleh Denisenko, Roman Romanyshyn and Olexiy Fedorenko.
Moreover, the famous ‘Wrath’ by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, which is stored in the museum, will be also displayed during the exhibition. As it is known, the artist started his career with graphics and later, under the influence of the works of Hieronymus Bosch, switched to painting. The 500 years anniversary of the death of Bosch and his well-known series ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ inspired the Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum to put the exhibition together.
‘Seven Deadly Sins’ exhibition will be held until May 15, 2016.
