Lviv prides itself for making very delicious and high quality chocolate. Since Soviet-era time «Svitoch» local Chocolate factory has been considered the one making the best chocolate in whole USSR. These days «Svitoch» chocolate bars and boxed sweets are still available and are very popular among local consumers. The plant is still functioning and makes delicious chocolate, however, it has merged with global Nestle Corporation.

Lviv Chocolate Factory is another popular place to stock up on chocolate in Lviv. Lviv Chocolate Factory (locally known as «Lvivska Maysternya Shokolady» or Lviv handmade chocolate shop) is a brainchild of iFest holding that is also behind Lviv’s most famous gastro-destinations such as Kryyivka (WW2-themed Ukrainian Patriotic Restaurant), Lviv Coffee Mines (Lvivska Kopal’nya Kavy) and House of Legends (Dim Legend). Lviv Chocolate Factory is probably among the most visited tourist destinations in Lviv.
With local chocolate becoming super popular thing among tourists, it was only logical to organize Festival of Chocolate in Lviv. In recent years this event has gathered the record number of visitors from all over Ukraine. The best chocolate makers in Ukraine, indie chocolate brands and artisan makers are frequent guests of the festival. For many guests this event is more than just a fun gastro festival, it is also an important platform for business opportunities and networking, a chance to attend interesting themed lectures and workshops.

In 2017 Lviv Chocolate festival will gather all the chocolate enthusiasts in October (October 13-15, 2017). The program will feature performances, fun, games and competitions for children, “Chocolate in Yummy Rynok Square” with real chocolate fountains, the longest chocolate cake in the world, master classes in preparing chocolate desserts, tasting sessions, chocolate sculptures, musical acts, and various drama and theatre groups.
