15 Corners of the World: the Kiev premiere

The New Wave video clips of the 1980s with their disorienting strangeness and hypnotic sounds of the experiments with emerging electronics. If you feel intrigued with such a combination, do your best to get the ticket to the only screening of ’15 Corners of the World’, one of the top events of this week in Kiev.

’15 Corners of the World’ (‘15 Stron swiata’) is a film about one of the most outstanding Polish experimental musicians - Eugeniusz Rudnik.

The film tells the story about revolutionary ideas of Eugeniusz, who was a part of the legendary ‘Experimental Studio of Polish Radio’ and who began to create experimental music long before the term ‘electronic music scene’ ran into an everyday usage. He worked in a science lab using tape and scissors instead of recording at the music studio. His experiments are an attempt to explore a new reality in which you can touch the sound.

The film won the Critic's Week Award at the Locarno Film Festival, got the Special Mention at the T-Mobile New Horizons (Nowe Horyzonty) Festival and was among the best music selections of the SXSW Festival.
Zuzanna Solakiewicz (derector/screenwriter) and Gregory Zvika Portnoy (director of photography) will present the film in Kiev.
