‘French Walk’ comics’ book presentation in Très FRANÇAIS

The presentation of comics’ book ‘French Walk’ took place at Très FRANÇAIS restaurant on October the 27th in Kyiv. The owner of Famille Très FRANÇAIS Natalia Nevyadomska, city guide Marina Chaika, co-owner of BRATY Design Studio, illustrator Ivan Kostenko and French translator Odille Melnik-Arden shared the story of comics’ creation with journalists.

The comics’ book ‘French Walk’ is a joint cultural-social project by Famille Très FRANÇAIS, Renault Company and BRATY Design Studio. The idea has emerged from the city tours by Marina Chaika who guides the tourists on ‘French route’ of Kyiv. Every participant of this project is worth of attention.
Famille Très FRANÇAIS restaurants’ chain is a ‘territory of France’ in the heart of Kyiv. It’s a young team of professionals, meeting point of interesting people, unusual format – French gastronomy and cultural hub. The Ukrainian text of the book has been written by Masha Kurochkina, the chief editor of ‘Artbooks’ publishing house, the journalist, PR-professional and author of video blog about kids’ games for ‘Family Is’ channel. French text has been translated by Odille Melnik-Arden, the translator of over 30 books (the works by Nikolay Gogol, Fiodor Dostoyevsky, Ivan Turgenev, Sergey Kaledin, Venediсt Yerofeyev, Joseph Brodsky among them). Odille Melnik-Arden used to be a Russian literature professor at Fénelon Licèe in Paris. She lives between France and Ukraine, these two countries became her real love.
The comics’ book ‘French Walk’ has been published in Ukrainian and French languages and narrates about sightseeing of Kyiv connected to France and French culture in easy and playful way. It is recommended for kids and adults who are learning French. The comics’ book will be distributed among French Schools of Kyiv free of charge.
