The French writer, literary critic and TV host Frédéric Beigbeder published his first novel "Mémoires d’un jeune homme derangé“ when he was 25 and gained notoriety in 2000 when he was dismissed from the advertising agency Young & Rubicam after publishing his satirical novel “$9.99” in which he criticized the advertising world. Beigbeder has won many literature prizes and is one of the bestselling writers in France. In addition, he is the executive director of “Lui”, a French adult entertainment magazine.

He is a famous Parisian dandy and an addict of clubs and bars like Marc Marronnier – the main character of his first three books: “Mémoire d'un jeune homme dérangé” (“Memoirs of a Deranged Young Man”, 1990), “Vacances dans le coma” (“Holidays in a Coma”, 1994) and “L'amour dure trois ans” (“Love Lasts Three Years”, 1997). Beigbeder was born in 1965, and studied at prestigious colleges. He specialized in political science, marketing, journalism and communications. About ten novels by Frédéric Beigbeder have been published so far, including “99 francs” - a relentless satire on the world of publicity. The book has been sold in more than 380 000 copies world-wide. In 2007 the novel was filmed in France.

The Lviv Publishers’ Forum will welcome the book fair as well as the International Literary Festival. It is held in Lviv each September since 1994. It is the largest book fair in Ukraine and one of the largest events of Publishing Business in Eastern Europe. Main expositions are located in the Palace of Arts near the Potocki Palace. The program of the Forum includes literary events and contests, presentations of publishing houses and authors, meetings with authors, literary readings, autograph sessions, discussions, round-table meetings, and performances. No doubt, that scoring a star-guest like Frédéric Beigbeder will bring International Publishers’ Forum in Lviv some serious additional boost.
