In Kyiv some of the big trading malls provide ice skating areas for those who love this kind of sport and fun. “Bilshovyk” mall located close to Shuliavska metro station is one of them.
This Ice rink is equipped with a variety of musical and lighting equipment in order to turn skating into real fun. Columns are chipped with soft material that makes it even more safe and convenient for those who make the first steps on skating rink. In addition, next to the columns anyone can just relax a bit. The amateurs can use the instructor’s services.

There are well-equipped and spacy ice rinks in Dream Town (Minska metro), Karavan (Petrivka metro) and Terminal (Brovary town).
This winter you can also enjoy skating at Sky Family Park close to Sky Mall open air rink (Petrivka metro) with amazing views on the Dnipro River banks. Special magic area for adults and kids with castle, snow maze, slopes and many attractions will be located over there from December 19th to February 28th.
In winter time in Kiev there are a lot of open air rinks for ice skating almost in every district of the city. In Kyiv downtown you can visit any of the rinks at Maidan Nezalezhnosti square, Mykhailivska square and Arena City center at Bessarabska square.
But if you want more space and really amazing Christmas and New Year illuminations and attractions, go to VDNKh exhibition. “Winter Country” with the biggest ice rink of 4000 square meters will appear over there starting from December 10th. The guests can visit Christmas Fair, residence of Santa Claus and big area for kids’ fun. For UAH 100 anyone can skate with no time limit from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.; entrance fee is UAH 50.

Olimpiysky Gorodok (Olimpiysky town) which appears every year in December at Troyitska square close to the Stadium offers one more opportunity to skate in Kyiv downtown. There are Christmas Fairs and big skating rink over there. Every morning from 9 till 10 a.m. anyone can visit the skating classes here. In the evening this place gets the special Christmas atmosphere with twinkling lights, crowds of people and the flavor of hot mulled wine.
Platforma Village at Platforma Art Zavod is traditional spot for a winter weekend and ice skating in Kyiv. There are free of charge lessons for kids but you have to sign up in advance. This ice rink is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Entrance fee for adults is UAH 60. There are traditional Christmas Fairs on the territory of Platforma Art Zavod for those who want just to relax and drink something hot.
