How to choose ecological make-up
Nowadays a whole variety of makeup brands from all over the world are represented in online and offline Ukrainian stores. While some are extremely famous like L'Oréal, MAC or Estée Lauder, they are still being tested on animals. Apart from being not animal-friendly, even expensive makeup can be ecologically damaging to the skin due to the high level of parabens, or to nature because of the extensive use of plastic packaging.
The first step at choosing eco-friendly brands is to simply check the packaging: the brands usually write about being cruelty-free and paraben-free right on the cover. You can also have a bit of research and consult the PETA-approved list of makeup manufacturers. Try to avoid buying makeup without proper recycling indicator, as it won't be accepted on Ukrainian recycling stations.
Finally, it's important to know that not every 100-percent pure natural brand may be suitable for your skin type. It's always better to consult with dermatologist and allergist before switching brands of skincare or makeup.

Despite being a part of L'Oréal group that tests their products on animals, NYX doesn't engage in the activity and is PETA-approved.
