2019 brings important news to travelers from all over the globe: Ukraine has new visa regulations. Besides, Ukrainian low-cost airlines SkyUp has announced new destinations from the popular European cities to resorts.

PassportOne of the most important news of the beginning of year concerns visa regulations. According to the information on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine website, starting from January 1, 2019, single entry 15-day tourist/business visas shall no longer be issued on arrival at Boryspil, Zhuliany (Kyiv) and Odesa international airports for the foreigners of 44 countries.

Besides, starting from January 1, 2019 E-visas to Ukraine will be issued for more purposes than previously, including tourism, medical treatment, activities in cultural, educational and sports sphere, as well as mass media service. The fee for the Ukrainian E-Visa will change from USD 65 to USD 85. You can find more details at the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

According to Airnews.com, Ukrainian International Airlines will temporarily cancel flights from Kharkiv to Tel-Aviv starting January 16. The reason behind is the disagreement with the Ukrainian airport, says an anonymous source from the airlines. UIA plans to negotiate with other regional airports to host the flight.

The new Ukrainian low-cost SkyUp airlines announced 4 new destinations from major cities, reports Emerging Europe. Starting from March 31, SkyUp will fly to:

  • Podgorica (from Kyiv)
  • Prague (from Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv)
  • Karlovy Vary (from Kyiv)
  • Tel Aviv (from Kharkiv)

Flight scheduleSkyUp airlines announced many new flights to be launched in 2019. For instance, Portuguese city Faro is now on the summer schedule. Kyiv-Faro flight will be available from 1 June to 26 October 2019 twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The minimum price of tickets for a round trip without luggage is UAH 7653, says the official SkyUp website.

The company also announced a new flight from Kyiv to Palma de Mallorca on their Facebook page. The first flight to the Spanish resort city will be launched on June 2. The price for a ticket starts at UAH 2506 without luggage and UAH 3201 with luggage.

One more low-cost airline enters the Ukrainian market in 2019. Laudamotion, a subsidiary of Ryanair, will launch flights from Vienna to Kyiv starting from February 1. The flights will operate 5 times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reports Lowcostavia.com.ua. The price starts at 26 euros for a one-way ticket.

Turkish Airlines will add a nonstop flight from Boryspil Airport to Bodrum, according to the Centre for Transport Strategies. The flight is to be launched on April 6. The flights will be operated once a week on Saturdays at night. Bodrum-Kyiv will be the first Ukrainian route with Turkish Airlines departing from the regional airport of Turkey.
