Avid travelers certainly remember the last year scandal with Ryanair's entering Ukrainian market — despite the numerous announcements and even already booked tickets, Irish low-cost airline had to break the contract because, as it was stated, Boryspil airport 'failed to honor a growth agreement reached at the Ministry of Infrastructure with the airport officials and the current Airport General Director'. The scandal ended with nothing, and, luckily, passengers got back money for already bought tickets.
However, the situation in 2018 is completely different. Starting September, the low-cost airline will launch 15 flights to different destinations in Europe, including Barcelona, London, Stockholm, Vilnius and a number of cities in Poland. The flights will operate within Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv and Lviv International Airport. The initial ticket price is 10 euro and on average one-way ticket will cost 40 euro. Besides, more flights are to be added to the schedule starting October 2018.
Ryanair operates over 70 bases across Europe and North Africa, some of which only base a single aircraft. Several non-base airports serve more flights and/or destinations than certain base airports. In 2013, Ryanair was both the largest European airline by scheduled passengers carried and the busiest international airline by passenger numbers.
