Until recent days, there was only two restaurants, Green and Dreamer’s Place, offering a decent vegan menu and a vegan shopping section in the city. Last week all the eager vegan fans celebrated the opening of the Kyiv well known and beloved franchise of Vegano Hooligano vegan restaurant in Lviv.
Located in Lviv downtown, Vegano Hooligano Lviv (10, Rymlyanyna street, Lviv) offers relaxed atmosphere and a great selection of dishes that will impress most spoiled vegans. The restaurant in Lviv is the biggest one in the Vegano Hooligano family throughout Ukraine. Other restaurants are located in Kyiv, Odessa and Ivano Frankibsk.
All the dishes on the menu are fully plant-based. Known for treating grains and vegetables ‘with respect’, its menu is full of marinated tofu sandwiches, signature selection of falafels, green salads, and soups. All the products used for preparing dishes in Vegano Hooligano restaurants originate from different parts of Ukraine, says the owner of the restaurant chain Rudolf Krayevskyy, the bread comes from Kyiv vegan bakery, vegetables are delivered from Odessa region eco farm.

It all started from small take-out food counter and grocer inside Bessarabski Market in Kyiv, now Vegano Hooligano eating spots became really popular, because the food they serve is cheap and it’s vegan. Their manu includes most common, no-fuss vegan dished like wraps, sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, and a couple desserts. But all the dishes are super delicious. They have English menus.

New vegan restaurants that have popped up in Lviv recently, are creating a certain new trend for vegetarian and vegan eateries featuring meat-free menus. That makes us think that very soon Lviv's veggies will be spoilt for their dining and shopping choices.
