It is promising to be one of the most spectacular manifestations of the last decade by the artists from the North-Eastern regions of Europe. The exhibition has been organized by the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (Riga) in partnership with the National Art Museum of Ukraine. The embassies of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland have acknowledged this collaboration as a vital platform that allows the searching for a cohesive identity of Europe and establishing a mutual dialogue.
Solvita Krese, the curator of ‘Identity. Behind the Curtain of Uncertainty’ exhibition reflected on her work: ‘With this exhibition we wish to re-evaluate the notion of identity, emphasizing its diverse aspects and to welcome the exploration of national, political, territorial, social and gender issues through the prism of identity. We want to showcase the works of artists who are not afraid to take a look behind the curtain of uncertainty, in which traumas of the past and vagueness of the future are woven together'.
The exhibition will be accompanied by educational program and different side events as discussions, workshops and performances.
The opening will take place on March 18 at 6pm and the exhibition will be held until May 22, 2016.
Do not miss a chance to step by the new exhibition at the National Art Museum in Kiev and enjoy promising and curious contemporary art from various European countries.
