Ukrainian Baroque Exhibition at Triptych Gallery

Triptych Gallery opens the new season with the debut exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian painter Anton Popernyak. A native of Luhansk, and a graduate of the Kyiv National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture, Anton's canvases bring a contemporary edge to the Old Masters.

Triprtych welcomes everyone for the cocktail launch this Thursday, 25th January 2018 from 19:00 and presents 2 new series by the artist Anton Popernyak: UKRAINIAN BAROQUE and FACES.
Originating in the 17th century under Hetman Ivan Mazepa, UKRAINIAN BAROQUE was an artistic style that fused West-European baroque architectural forms and Ukrainian national traditions. Anton Popernyak's opulent canvases reinvent classical forms and subjects for a modern audience.
FACES/// is a series of minimalist contemporary pieces that explore the feminine ideal in the age of mass advertising. Glamorous and expressive, the artworks allude to science fiction and the fashion industry alike.
